I am struggling to get the license plate lamp covers out on this car. Facing the rear of the car, it seems the clip is on the right side of the lamp housing. After a couple hours I've managed to get this far.

Can anyone confirm this is the right side to get these unclipped? I cannot get any further than this and don't want to damage it. Anyone have any other tips for replacing these bulbs?

Before you break them out.... Order these LR ones or source the aftermarket LED ones that are $20 a pair.

 

I replaced the license plate bulbs with LED ones. There's a couple threads on here with the number.

One side came out pretty easy and the other side was a PITA; it was wedged in there. I found that pulling out on the bumper cover helped. It still took a decent amount of force to get it out. It went back in much easier.
