Ignition Key Starter Bezel Replacement

Has anybody ever replaced the start/engine bezel insert? Looked around but haven't seen any instructions. I know the part comes as an entire bezel with the start/engine and also as individual pieces but didn't see any instructions on how to swap them out. thanks!

I'm eventually going to have to do this on mine as well.

For some reason the top half of mine has some crazy cracking in the black paint that shows light through whenever it's lit up.

Kind of lets down the look of it all...

There is no obvious clip on the replacement bezels that I ordered so I assumed it may be friction fit. Was there a reason why you had to glue yours in? Was it easy to replace?

Mine also has some light coming through it so it’s mostly a cosmetic issue but it’s bothering me too!

I have an issue with my top portion "Engine". It was broken off when I purchased the car and the piece was found in the car. I stupidly tried to glue it back together with super glue which worked, but caused the top portion to haze up from the super glue fumes. Should have used an epoxy.

Anybody ever figure out how to replace one portion of the engine start bezel like is sold from Aston Bits?

I also have noticed that the navigation screen panel seems to have the piano black attached to it versus having it attached via springs like is shown in the Redpants video. Can anyone confirm that a 2012 would have the navigation screen panel not have springs and does not have to be separated from the dash panel for removal of the dash panel?

Thanks.

Same situation here: no "Engine" part of the bezel when I got the car, though it was nowhere to be found. That said, it was just the very front cover and lettering. I ultimately formed a new cover out of a piece of acrylic and had the black background and "Engine" wording printed in the matching font. Then I cut out the wording to match the profile and glued the acrylic cover on with "pure glue" to avoid the hazing from cyanoacrylate. A pretty inexpensive fix as compared to replacing even part of the AM bezel.
