Not Another AMV8 Spacer thread...

Hi All,
Hope you are all well.
I have read all posts and threads regarding the various options for an 2008 AM V8 (VH2) spacing, however I haven't found a definite answer to my questions.

1) Does anyone know exactly by how much mm the OEM rear studs must be shaved off to accommodate the H&R 23mm kit using the original 7 spoke wheels ?
2) Can this be done without touching the wheels (deeper pockets) ?
3) If I wish to go back to the OEM setup and removing the spacers, could the wheels be put back on the shortened rear studs using new nuts where the thread starts right at the beginning (assuring enough 360 turns) ?

Many thanxs

1. I don't know exactly how much you'd have to take off, but if you don't have the pockets in the wheels then I'd guess its about 20mm. It is a few months since I saw the wheels off so I could be wrong, but its a significant amount
2. You'd probably put the spacer in place, mark the studs, remove the spacer, cut off the studs at the marks. The wheels don't need to be in the same room whilst you're doing this. Once the wheels are bolted on to the spacers the shortened studs would be comfortably clear of the wheels.
3. The shortened studs wouldn't be safe to use without the spacers, so you'd have to replace the studs, and they aren't simply screwed into the hubs, they are pressed in from the back. I have heard that they are the same studs as a Transit van, but haven't seen that confirmed.

I have heard of someone drilling pockets into the back of the wheel, but unless you're an engineer that knows a lot about these particular wheels, that just sounds like a crazy thing to do.
