Make Tonneau Covers Great Again

I stopped in to the dealership to check out the new Vantage Roadster. I like the roadster's lines (usually the lines of a car is ruined when the chop the roof off) and I thought the new vane grille looks better in person than it does in pictures.

According to Aston Martin, the new Vantage Roadster has the fastest powered roof operation on a production car. While that’s cool, I think they should’ve kept the tonneau cover even if it meant having a slightly slower, more complicated mechanism. It just adds that finishing touch you expect from a high end sports car. I don’t want to see the mechanical bits underneath the top when the top is down!

Wow! Looks unfinished. Was it perhaps a pre-production model?

Sadly, no. This was a production car at the dealer showroom. They have 3 roadsters for sale.

The roof operation is quick -- 6.8 seconds -- but I bet they sacrificed the tonneau cover for speed. I like the tonneau cover of the previous roadster with the little speedster bumps. I wish they kept it on the new roadster.
