DBS Engine Mount replacement -34 hours?
DBS Engine Mount replacement -34 hours?
I have to get engine mounts replaced on DBS. Main dealer says it's a 34 hour proceedure, including removal of intake and exhaust manifolds. I had engine mounts done on my F430 last year and it was only 6 hours. I told main dealer this sounds excessive and to double check proceedure. Anyone have their mounts done on their aston before?
On my DB9, the second time I did the job, it took me about 20 hours to get my engine out, into a truck, and then do the reverse. My understanding for these types of jobs is the engine is supported from above and the subframe is removed. Surprised that it is more labor. But of course, that is "book time" and not wall clock. For some jobs it runs fast, for others it runs slow.
Right Trans Mount 1.95
Left Trans Mount 1.95
Right Engine Mount 8.65
Left Engine Mount 6.55
Thats surprisingly high. If I was going to go through this pain I would at least upgrade the exhaust manifolds while I'm there.

I can't say that I have ever experienced such a brazen admission that a dealer intentionally rips off their customers. Sounds like a great reason to never do business with that dealer again.

I looked up a V8 Vantage brake pad replacement and see it listed at 0.80 hours per set, either front or rear.
48 minutes once the car is up and tires off seems doable, 96 minutes seems a bit long for someone who does this for a living.
