2013 Carbon Fiber Mirror Cap Installation

Hey guys,

Just got around to installing some carbon fiber mirror caps for my 2013 V8V.

I purchased these from ECPS out in Poland and had them shipped to the states. I've seen some questions about how to remove the OEM mirror cap and install new Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps. I took photos and made an install video for those that are interested. Hope this helps somebody.

I'm not entirely sure when the mirror style changed (maybe 09 and on?), but the older mirror caps had four tabs, and mine had three. The first picture shows where the tabs are located. It helps to know the location of these so that you can insert your trim tool for leverage.

Video of the step by step in real-time can be seen here:

Hope this helps anyone who is about to do this or is thinking about doing this.

This is where my tabs were once I removed the OEM cap. This is help you locate where to insert trim tool.

Thanks! I will be doing the CF Side Strake installation as well. Once I figure those out, I can post a video on installation.

Update: I did a test drive and got it up to speed and no issues. However, I did contact Michal to see how to best fit these and he suggested silicone glue where I place the double-sided tape. I used 30lb double-sided gorilla/3M tape. Maybe the silicone glue will be better for it in the long run. I may double up to be sure.

MAUMAU is infamous around these parts
It looks fantastic Andrew and your pictures and video are really helpful for those considering this upgrade.

I think you missed your calling as you obviously would have been a superb surgeon.

Post #608 on my build thread (2/3 of the way down page 41) now shows photos of when I did that last year.
LOL I couldn't find it in my table of contents so I just added those pics to save you time figuring it out.

Overall one of the easier upgrades to DIY install.
