DBX Sales
DBX Sales
How are these selling? There is an Aston dealer in my town with what seems like the same inventory of DBX for many months and I’ve not seen a single one around town that didn’t have dealer plates on it. Lingering inventory is a bad sign for the SUV that’s meant to bring financial security to this special company .....
There are some sales numbers posted on Pistonheads.
As for the US, I live in Charlotte with a dealer in town and zero DBX seen on the road. TBH I’m not sure I would notice one across traffic, especially in a conservative color. I’ve only seen 2 of the new model Vantages, and I’m out and about quite a bit including the affluent parts of town (no DBS seen either... I would definitely notice).

AM pumped out a bunch due to launch year...I think somebody said each dealer had to order 8 DBX so about 350 total in the US from the jump. There are still ~150 sitting on lots and kinda looking like the vantage bloated inventory situation last year. It is a nice looking SUV (not a fan of the interior) but probably not meeting sales expectations from a corp perspective. I haven't seen one on the road in Bay Area. The lux SUV is a crowded space with AM late to the party so time will tell how it plays out. If you are in the DBX market you might be able to pickup a 2021 at 20% off MSRP later this year.
My local dealer has sold over 20. I have seen one on the road at the grocery store, but I don't get out much. A friend that works in the Back Bay of Boston said he's seen several DBX's driving around.

I’ve seen three privately owned DBX’s. Two in Palm Beach and one in Naples.
If you look at the dealer inventory you may notice that some of the interior and exterior colors are a bit loud. It’s great for showing a wide variety of colors but they are not for everyone and thus some sit at the dealerships. A customer who will be spending north of $200K will most likely order their own specifications and deal with the wait.
I think DBX is a handsome vehicle and it will sell well, especially in the Asian market where I used to live.

Aston Martin reported 1171 total DBX sales for 2020 Q4 with the US doing about a third. They seem to be happy averaging almost 90 sales a month. https://www.autonews.com/sales/aston...-dbx-went-sale From the article “Moran said the brand has seen success with the DBX in markets such as South Florida, Southern California and Texas. Ken Gorin, CEO of the Collection — a Miami-area luxury dealership group representing nine brands, including Aston Martin — called the SUV a game changer for dealers. His store sold 11 DBXs in 2020, another seven by mid-March and has 14 set to arrive in April, all of which are sold.” My order went in the beginning of December and is waiting at Brunswick for a transporter to the Orlando dealer.

I still turn around and look at my V8 vantage that I have owned for 12 years and 50,000 miles every time I park and walk away from it. The Porsche....not so much.
I waited to drive one before putting my order in. Quick steering, with stable turns and good handling sealed the deal. I traded my Cayenne for my current Macan and the DBX is the better car to me.
