DB9 Parcel shelf removal - help request

hoping for a little guidance , have got everything else out rear seats etc and am trying to remove the rear parcel shelf central panel which effectively goes all the way from above the subwoofer to the 3rd brake light. Its loose at the front but cannot get it out, i understand there is a tang at the back but not sure how to disenage it - like the seats is it jut a hard yank but towards the front of the car ?

Any help or picture of what the panel looks like when its out would be greatly appreciated as the back of a db9 is not a pleasant place to operate at the best of times and i dont want to break anything !! - Car is an MY06 DB9

Many thanks

Just pull straight toward the front of the car. It will interfere with the rear window, but there shouldn't be anything else holding it back.

Don't forget to disconnect the interior brake light once you get it loose.

Thanks, is it one of those metal tangs that needs a really good yank ?, the bloody thing doesn’t want to come loose ( mind you rear seats needed a massive yank but they are less delicate) am terrified of either breaking the panel or damaging brake light fitting

apprediate the help, have applied a fair bit of pressure but not shifting , am assuming you disconnect brake light one the panel. Slides forward ?

Yeah, there's a metal tang that engages when you push it back into place. It's attached to the piece you're try to get out -- it's just a wedge-type friction fit, so nothing to really lock it in place. You say it's loose at the front, so I'm assuming you've removed the two screws right at the front above the subwoofer.

At one point in my car's life (before I owned it) the rear window was replaced. I've got a bit of rub between the rear brake light and the rear window, but it's not a tight fit. Is your brake light tight to the glass?

Yes, once it releases there's enough slack in the wiring to unplug the brake light.

thank you for the help, so wiggled and yanked and out it came , can't believe what a boom box it is for NVH back there, everything just hanging so no wonder there is all that banging from the back, i also managed to get my rear internal quarter panel locked back in place (someon had broken the fir tree near the rear interior light) which was the biggest thing i wanted to get done (along with with regluing the headlining) - parts cost $2 - but required removal of half the interior ...........................

Stopping the vibration of the parcel shelf looks little more challenging as theres nothing to brace it all against - ill wedge the side panels but the centre panel really needs to be covered in dynamat or similiar to get rid of the drumming

FWIW, I find that a little wd-40 or white li grease spray on the Xmas trees and wedges makes them go in easier and doesn't seem to impact their holding strength.
