ODB reader for 07 Vantage questions
ODB reader for 07 Vantage questions
So I purchased a bluetooth odb reader with my 07 Vantage and then uses your phone to display the read codes etc and now I have a couple of questions.
1) The reader seems to read only engine codes regardless of if its plugged in to the body ODB reader plug or the engine ODB reader plug. Any idea of what I need to do to read the body codes?
2) I'd like to read the mileage from the ECU and compare it to the odometer. The previous owner had removed the insturment cluster hood right before I picked up the car and I found that to be a little suspicious so I'd like to set my mind at ease.
Thanks in advance from a happy new Vantage owner,

Thanks in advance from a happy new Vantage owner,
I don't have a Vantage quite yet (hopefully tomorrow), but the Foxwell NT530 is $170 on Amazon. I bought the one with pre-installed VW codes to read my TTRS and then I got a free download for the Aston Martin. Once I got past their use of indistinguishable O's and 0's in the serial number, it worked great on my Audi. Was able to tell the entertainment system was throwing all sorts of codes because the garbage stock headunit was replaced with a modern one. So it definitely works and reads modules not available to OBD2.

Tried out the Foxwell on a real problem and it worked great on the new-to-me Aston. Parking sensors weren't working, so I verified that a code was thrown and there was no reading from any of the sensors. When the sensors are working, the 'live data' mode lets you see how many inches away an object is from each of the sensors. Handy for troubleshooting.
