2006 db9 v12
Problem is a constant engine whine. I have flushed twice and changed the power steering fluid but the whine continues and does not change when turning the steering wheel, even to extreme left & right. Could the water pump be an issue? If not, what else should I check? I am new to AM and not a mechanic. Thank you, Mike
Very hard to gauge from afar, but FWIW, my 2006 DB9 doesn't whine, it sings!
Things you can do to isolate the issue (which is likely related to the accessory belt).
1) Check Power Steering fluid, top off if needed.
2) Buy a can of "Belt conditioner" and spray it on the accessory belt.
3) Spray some WD-40 on the various pulleys and tensioners.
Wouldn't surprise me that the tensioner or a pulley has a bearing going given the age.
