Misfire Learn procedure for V8VS
Misfire Learn procedure for V8VS
Hey all, I was having a misfire on two cylinders, so I disconnected the battery and replaced all spark plugs and coil packs. I'm now trying to get the Misfire Monitor up and going again without any success. I have done the 70-35 coast down with AC off ad nauseum... even did 70-25 for good measure. Spent 2 hours on it last night and another hour on it today... I'm about ready to pull my hair out. I also have the P1000 code that's still showing even after 2 days of driving and almost 200 miles??? Will the Misfire Monitor not become active until the P1000 code goes away, or will the P1000 code not go away until the Misfire Monitor is working?
Could really use some help because I am following these instructions to a T and nothing is working 😫😡
Thanks for any help,
Jenn

Your car is a 2011? On the later 2010.50 up cars retain the misfire corrections even with battery disconnect.
On your emissions monitors. Start in the AM with a cold car and 1/2 fuel. Start up and let idle for 2 min. Select drive and drive very nice at 30-50 mph. Slow and steady. For 5-7 miles. Then find a freeway at cruise control at 65 for the same 5-7 miles.
