I can't remember exactly but 5 (red) must be the +12v camera power supply (reverse) and the video ground is on 1 and the video signal on 12.These two wires are already occupied if you have the original camera. You have to try to connect to these wires again and hope you don't get any interference.
connectors ref TE Connectivity 2-1419158-6 and 2-1419158-9
lugs Mouser 571-1719958-1CT and 571-1438299-4CT
What country are you from?

Amazing - i'd be totally lost without all this intel so can't thank you enough. I'm in the UK.

So far my shopping list is as follows:

• Cartizan CP3-11 unit
• Double sided velco tape
• 3x add-a-fuse, size mini, each with 5A fuses
• Existing OEM camera / rear view camera resolution 800 * 480 (resolution of the GPS screen)
• Harness connectors (exc. wire): https://www.mouser.co.uk/
o 1x TE Connectivity 2-1419158-6 (male connector)
o 1x TE Connectivity 2-1419158-9 (female connector)
o 15x Mouser 571-1719958-1CT (female receptacle to fit in connector)
o 15x Mouser 571-1438299-4CT (male pin to fit in connector)
• 0.5mm2 wire (20AWG) (5A supported)
• Car Trim removal kit
• Car terminal removal kit
• Soldering iron and tin solder [?]

Annoyingly the mouser receptacles / pins must be bought 100x minimum at mouser.co.uk

Things I may still need to acquire [?]:

1x a male composite wire/connector for pin 12 (unless one comes with the CP3-11 kit - it hasn't arrived yet)
1x I/O switch for the CP3-11 unit [?]

Great thanks. I'll get those ordered too.

The CP3-11 connection diagram has B+ (battery positive), ACC (accessory i.e. ignition live) and Ground. Should the on/off switch be wired to permanent live or ignition live? When the switch is operated, I presume the car shows normal Garmin system (and, i hope, works with reversing camera)?

My Vantage didn't come with a reversing camera. On my car the Carplay is permanently on, the camera works on the Carplay. The switch is on the permanent +12v and cuts the general power supply to return to the Garminn.

Please could you clarify “Male at the top as seen from the terminals and female at the bottom as seen from the wires”. My male connector has 12 and 22 on the bottom row when viewed from its wire end. Is this consistent numbering with the guide? Also, have I matched the pins the right way around here?

all the kit has arrived now so I’m going to get started as soon as I have can

You need to make an extension lead, so the wires must be in the same position between the male and female connectors.

I had a crack at this today but not successful as of yet

1) I used the recommended lugs Mouser 571-1719958-1CT (receiver style pin which go into the smaller male connector) and 571-1438299-4CT (long spike style pin which go into the larger female connector). My male connector looks good, but the metal ends stick out for every wire of the other one. are these definitely the right ones to use? See photo

2) for my car, this harness is under one of the rear seats beneath the sub-woofer enclosure (which I managed to remove with some difficulty but it's done now)

3) I got the system wired up (the CP3-11 unit's jog dial lights up) but can't get any video from the CarPlay to the car's screen. It does sometimes show the Garmin NAV but mostly screen is blank. Suspect poor connection for pin 12. Are there any others I should be checking? I've tried refitting the 'video' pin 12.

4) I bought a component cable for the harness. It's very thin in the inner core. May contribute to the difficulty here. I don't know if the internals differ for these.

5) factory reverse camera not working when my harness plugged in

The video pin 12's wire with component is something i'm going to try. I'm also not 100% on things like the reverse 12v / OEM camera given my car has these stock. I'm not sure i'm connecting the harness to the right things. On your harness photo below, what is the blank wire connected to?

What does the part in bold below mean? Does this mean these are left out of the extension harness?

I can't remember exactly but 5 (red) must be the +12v camera power supply (reverse) and the video ground is on 1 and the video signal on 12. These two wires are already occupied if you have the original camera. You have to try to connect to these wires again and hope you don't get any interference.

I'm re-writing the guide as I go along, so hope to share a comprehensive English guide for others to benefit from

The reverse control wire switches the Carplay to the reverse video input. The OEM camera must be connected to the Carplay's reverse video input. If there's a problem, you'll have to manage the switch between the OEM camera and the screen's video input depending on the system used (Carplay or OEM).

I hadn’t realised the harnesses have red switches that are supposed to pull out then lock back once pins are in place, so I’ve done this now. The larger female connector’s pins now go in properly and ‘click’. I’m a complete beginner at all this and do find the wiring harness v difficult to do. I have broken the female connector also

i plug it all in and the car still shows the Garmin SatNav. Regardless of whether the CP3-11’s video in and video out component connectors have anything connected (which is perplexing since pin 12 is intercepted). Can’t get any CarPlay video so questioning is my harness is correct.

i can get the CP3-11 powered and connect to it with my phone. This is able to play audio out the RCA cables which I’ve got plugged into the 3.5mm Aux. It is quiet though. No visual on the screen.

I thought I'd validated my answer but I can't find it so I'll start again.I've lost my memory, sorry. The standby wire from the extension lead must be connected to the +12 accessory after the switch in order to switch the display to Carplay.
