Appreciate you trying to help me and I haven't given up here.
I tested my CP3-11 on a TV. I can't get any composite video signal out of it to the TV, though the HDMI works. I've ordered an HDMI to RCA converter to see if this is a workaround.
Does my harness look correct to you? I've tried to show the positions of every wire. My plan / questions are:
1) The wire labelled 'video' to connect to 'video out' of the CP3-11
2) The wire labelled '12v camera power' to connect to the CP3-11 wire labelled 'Backup'. [or does it need to connect to Fuse 79 (backup lamps) also?]
3) Do i need to connect anything to the 'camera in' of the CP3-11? or does my red line connect to 'Backup' on the CP3-11?
It's my first time doing this so I kinda need everything spelled out without any ambiguity even if it's obvious.
Hi,
You need to connect the video ground of the cable to the "shield" terminal.
Ah - got it! I'll change that now to wire the shield ground in too.
1) What does this 'video' RCA cable (which is connected to pin 12 & pin 1 of the male terminal) connect to? Is it 'video out' of the CP3-11? it's unclear
2) What should my red wire connect to? On your harness, it's a stray black wire. Guessing links to fuse 79 and/or backup wire of CP3-11?

Reason: update
The video wire is connected to the video output socket on the CP3-11.The red wire is connected to the +12 after contact and powers the CP3-11 acc.
Understood on video wire. Perhaps it would help if I write out every connection and you might be able to fill out with the right answers where I do not understand?
CP3-11 Wires:
GND (black wire, labelled): Connects to ground of car (body / other ground point)
B+ (yellow wire, labelled): Connects to Fuse 77 (permanent battery) of car (passenger footwell fusebox)
ACC (red wire, labelled): Connects to Fuse 66 (ignition switched power) of car (passenger footwell fusebox)
Video Out (RCA female, labelled): Connects to RCA video wire in harness pin 12 (video) and harness pin 1 (shield ground)
Audio L Out (RCA female, labelled): Connects to Aux car stereo in armrest using RCA to 3.5mm
Audio R Out (RCA female, labellled): Connects to Aux of car stereo in armrest using RCA to 3.5mm
Video In (RCA female, labelled): Connects to [UNCLEAR - help requested]
Backup (white wire, labelled): Connects to [UNCLEAR - help requested]
Camera In (RCA female, labelled): Connects to [UNCLEAR - help requested]
User Created Harness Wires:
n.b. male pin numbers are as viewed from the terminals. Female pin numbers are as seen from the wires. Male connector has embossed numbers showing positions of pins 1, 11, 12 and 22.
Pins 12 and 1: connected to an RCA cable with male end. Pin 12 connects to core of RCA wire and Pin 1 connects to the outer 'shield ground' of the RCA cable. This male RCA connects to 'Video Out' female RCA of the CP3-11 CarPlay Unit.
Pin 5: Connects to Fuse 79 of passenger footwell fusebox (backup lamps) [UNCLEAR IF CORRECT - help requested]
Pins 20, 19, 17, 15, 14, 10, 9, 7, 4, 3 connect to each other as an extension harness
Any other connections / disconnections not explicitly mentioned : [UNCLEAR - help requested]

hi Jojo, I did get it working, but with two caveats:
1) The CP3-11 I had was faulty, so I had it replaced by firm I bought it from. The composite video out of my original unit did not work. The replacement unit does
2) I ended up buying a custom wiring harness from somewhere else because I couldn’t get the one I tried to make myself to work
