Radio and Nav System will not turn on
Radio and Nav System will not turn on
I have a puzzler: I returned recently from a 2-week vacation and started my 2006 V8 Vantage. It's always kept on a CTEK battery tender and the charger indicators were fine before I unplugged it. The car started normally, but the radio will not power up and neither will the navigation system. No other electrically powered system on the central console seems affected. I checked the passenger side fuses and they appear okay. Any ideas what my problem is?
Last time this happened to me I tracked the fiber optic connection signal module by module and found out it was a bad radio receiver module.
I bought the replacement part from eBay, took my car apart, swapped out the bad with the good one, then fixed!
There are a few threads here on how to do it. But the possible source of the outage (from my poor memory) is either the head unit, navigation module, radio receiver, cd changer (if you have one).
I used fiber optic loops to check one by one. In the Aston the locations are a pain and all separate.
