DB9 air conditioner compressor
DB9 air conditioner compressor
Hi all
Did a search for this but came up nil.
Is the air conditioner compressor in the 2009 DB9 common with something devoid of the Aston tax? Eg Ford, Jag? I have a horrible feeling I may be up for one soon.
Cheers Dean

ALSO CHECK IF its leaking green fluid than where is it leaking from, in my case it was leaking from a brass part (i think i posted about repair on forum) the brass part is called AC compressor pressor control valve, you can find it on eBay for about $ 28 , you can swap it very easily without removing AC compressor , empty the system (local AC shop can do it for like $ 35), just remove circle clip, pull the brass part out , put new one in (there are o rings and big one starts leaking, you could even find a ring then you can fix it in 1 dollars plus cost of refilling the AC system), refill the system
Insert critique of china and stuff from there here --> <---, but this one works great in my DB9: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32985979592.html
I use Nyloc Blue on all the o-rings, which I did buy from Scuderia because I didn't like the quality of what I could find locally.
I bought a Jag drier and tig welded the bracket from the AM drier on to it. Same drier, different mount, 1/10th the cost.

Thanks very much for the reply guys.
Wildcat, I think the freight from US to West Australia may be prohibitive and I'm not sure I need a compressor yet. I did read somewhere about the Jag drier but don't have the know how or equipment to modify it to fit so have just ordered the AM part complete with AM tax (about 220 AUD)

I think all new cars use variable displacement compressors now, so the off-brand replicas might be the only ones left at some point. I am kind of curious if any variable displacement compressor will bolt up to the factory bracket with the correct pulley offset...
