Thumbs up DBS oil capacity

Going to change the oil for the first time in my 2009 DBS manual car. Looked a a few u-tube and a search or 2. Can across 2 videos that mention about 2009 v12 DBS and DB9 having a to long of a dip stick and not having enough oil? Any truth to that and what is the capacity supposed to be? 11 or 12 quarts? say 11.2 liters? thanks

My understanding the dipstick issue was only in very early cars. Your changing the oil filter too, right? It's always good to review your owners manual if you have one. Because it your first oil change experience I'd start with 10 1/2 -11 quarts with a new filter. Don't overfill it. Topping off, if needed, is easier than removing excess.

Make sure you drain all the old oil out. My 1st oil change with my DB9 I was surprised how long it took to drain. I let it drain overnight when I change oil now.

What year was your DB9? my DBS is a 2009, actually built real early in 2008. Was the New York auto show car, Took a little over 11 1/4 Qt's. I was able to prefill the filter about half full b4 screwing it on. Didn't spill any, also its a thing i don't have big hands. Also cleaned the throttle body's b4 reassemble.

There was a dip stick issue regarding the length on the early V12 DB9 only (I think). Aston Martin corrected by supplying the proper part and done deal. It was an easy check of the part number on your dipstick to assure you have the new replacement. I'm sure the part number info is available here somewhere.
