Question V8 Vantage valved airbox \ manifold ?

Anyone have any information about this Power Upgrade (astonmartin.com) beyond what the website states Is this actually some sort of enhanced intake manifold that adds 20BHP?

The power pack adds the vacuum actuated flaps to the intake manifold and an engine retune, along with a black painted manifold. Aston claims 400hp. I have it on my car and I'd say that you'd be better served going with a VAP tune instead.

Im curious to know if the flaps thing coupled with a VAP tune would be advantageous over just the VAP tune itself.

When I asked VAP that question, the answer was that it's not much of a difference.

Tune it , air flow happens regardless and it will save you $$$$. Stock airbox will flow ok for the extra 30-35hp.

I put my initial VAP tune on the car this weekend after fixing an air inlet ducting leak and I have decat pipes ( and a tune for those ) from VAP sitting next to me at the moment. The initial VAP tune was good enough to make me want more!!!
