Unhappy Battery shows disconnected on dash

Any help or advice appreciated: I keep my 2006 V8 Vantage on a CTEK battery conditioner. When disconnecting it this morning for a drive, I apparently inadvertently hit the battery disconnect button in the right rear boot compartment. When I tried to start the car the instrument panel indicator shows the battery disconnected warning. I followed the owner's manual procedure for reconnecting the battery by putting the key in the column at the number one position and pushing the battery connect button low on the panel behind the passenger seat. Even after repeated tries the procedure doesn't work; I still get a check battery disconnect indication on the instrument display. The battery is less than 2 years old. Can anyone help?

You gotta hold that button for a few seconds. Try that if you haven’t already.

Thanks for your advice. Problem resolved...apparently was a sticky battery disconnect button, that eventually popped free. Held the reconnect button for a few moments and everything is now okay.
