Infotainment and Amp Issues.

I'm working on debugging an occasional glitch in my '14 Vanquish infotainment(B&O system). Occasionally at startup, the amp seems like it does not turn on - the speakers do not pop up and there is no audio, although the screen shows that an MP3 or phone is playing a track. When it does this, I've tried disconnecting the optical connector, removing the amp fuse, turning on/off various audio sources, shutting off the car and letting it sleep for a while, and even locking/unlocking the car. What does the trick is letting the car "sleep" for about 10 minutes.

An engineer at my office and I have the equipment to decode the optical bus. We've been successful in pulling audio off the optical bus(AM's version is actually more simple than other vehicles) but we have not yet caught the issue I mentioned above. Since CAN does not go to the amp, and dropping out the amp power or dropping out the light does not get it to reset, I'm starting to think this particular issue is "head-unit" related. One of these days when it flakes out, I'll bring the car into the lab again to see if we can catch it.

Does anyone know what causes this?
Has anyone found a quick-fix to get the audio system running again(besides the 10 minute sleep)?

I'm a music junkie, so when this system doesn't work, I'm at a real loss without music - although, yes, the exhaust note is great!

Hey! Did you ever seem to find the issue to this?
I may be suffering from the same issue on a 14.5MY vanquish at work….

Yes and no.
Never did find the root cause, but also haven't had the car back in to get more data logs. We have the equipment to debug the optical data, but we have not caught the boot up issue in the logs.
I did update to the newest firmware on the AMI system. Helped some of the operation bugs and added the power and tire pressure/temp pages.
But that didn't fix the boot-up issue. It does happen less often, but that may also be my timing of shutting off the car and restarting.

What I do if it happens is leave the car running and pull the 10A (I think 10A, it's been a while) fuse for about 10 seconds, then plug back in. The fuse is located in the trunk fuse box. This will cause a reboot and almost always causes the amp to boot back up. Based on how the optical bus operates, this makes sense. We think it's an issue on the optical bus not waking up properly.
I've considered running that fuse to a switch hidden in the cabin, like I did my trunk release motor/latch cables. But it just doesn't happen all that often.

Thank you for the prompt reply. The vanquish is a volante model with B&O as an option. There is a 40 A standalone fuse (I think near the battery) and a wake up fuse in one of the fuse boxes…. I will check in later when I check it out. Thank you again for the speedy response!

Looks like it's F11, 10A, for the ICU. It's not the amp fuse. Considered the "Fusebank - Rear". On the coupe, the fusebank is in the trunk, on the forward shelf, under the rear window, behind a panel. Probably the only 10A fuse in that block.
