DBR22- whats to come...

AM released the https://www.astonmartin.com/en/model..._202208]DBR-22 limited run "open cockpit racer" this morning. I think it's beautiful. What's possibly more interesting than this limited-run special is what it reveals about what's coming down the pike. IMO, this is what the next DB11/12 will look like overall. Those will be the new headlights for the 11, possibly the new Vantage as well. Also, this is probably the new dash and center console layout for the "refresh" cars coming next year. I like it.

I like it. Hard to gauge the size but this looks more like a speedster derivative of the DBS versus the Vantage based derivative of the v12 speedster.

The internal cockpit looks like an evolution of the DBS GT Zagato which itself looked to be derived from the Vantage.

Hard to read the tea leaves about exactly how this will play out in the current lineup of production cars, IMO.

I like it, but it is quite similar to the Ferrari Monza SP2

Let's hope they adapt this style indeed for the facelift DB11 and Vantage. If they then also adapt the DBS rearlight-styling light onto these modells and the future DBX facelift in time to come, I think they'll be back onto winning early Gaydon Era owners out of their DB9's DBS's and Vantages

Definitely the right direction (finally) - still think the interior is far too messy and for that reason alone I'd not be a purchaser of a newer Aston. These need to un-clutter the inside more, but better than what they currently have on the Vantage - just not enough. The exterior very nice though.

The interior looks a little AMG to my eyes.

Will AML ever build cars again that people want to buy? Or will they become a bespoke auto maker that makes limited edition cars for the super wealthy?

The dash def looks like a newer gen MB system layout wise (air vents and screen, center console layout), which is what we knew was coming. This concept car is little fussier than what actually makes it to production I bet.

The front end still doesn't work for me. I know they wanted to make a break from the past, but every approach since the Gaydon cars is a step backwards in that respect.

This car is derived from a car that a customer called up Aston and said, “ Hey, build me a car and this is what I want it to look like”. So the fact that some around here don’t like it, is just too bad. ROFLMAO.

I guess you’ll just have to call AML and have your own car built. Otherwise, your just complaining.
