HID Headlight leveling

Hi All
2009 Vantage with HID lights...Noticed that when I turn on my headlights, they don't move up and down (auto leveling test) Thjis just recently happened. Everything else is fine, no condensation, etc. It's both headlights... Does anyone know if there is a separate fuse to check for this function?

There is a module under the dash drivers side. They like to fail sometimes. Have you checked codes? If it sees a fault it will default to low position.

thanks I'll put my foxwell on it. Also looks like there's a fuse in the cabin box I'll check. Thanks

UPDATE- Pulled fuse 53 ( it was OK) and reinstalled it. Now the module works again. British Glitch!

I am tagging on in here. My headlamps do the self-test at startup but they always seem like they are aimed ridiculously low.

There are panels inside the front fender liners, right behind the headlights. When you remove them you will see adjustment screws for vertical and horizontal aiming.

In your owners book it describes the process fairly well. T-20 for the adjustment fixings.

Mine is an '06 and has self-leveling HIDs, yes.

I read somewhere there are level sensors on the front and rear control arms that send a signal to the leveling module to keep the headlights from point up when the vehicle is loaded. If those fault they point downwards to prevent dazzle.

I have not looked had time to investigate this but this it what it seems like mine are doing, they do the self-test but aim downwards to where it feels like I can only see 30ft in front of the car.

They probably have never been adjusted correctly from the beginning. If they do the nod on startup I would definitely adjust them upward.

I only ever see my headlight do the self test when the lights are on auto, presumably because they come on immediately if I am parked in my garage. My '07 was the same.

As stated before, lamps on key off and be facing a wall or similar close flat surface 5-10ft away. Key position II. Within a few seconds you should see a movement if working correctly.
