Is there a difference between AML Carbon Black and Onyx Black?

 

Onyx has a pronounced silver metallic flake & carbon black has a subtle blue flake

 

There are different Carbon Blacks. For example, my Vantage is BMW Carbon Black (the color's actual name) a metallic paint that appears to be more of a dark blue color than black. It’s quite similar to Midnight Blue Metallic.

 

The color im comparing is the carbon black on the special carbon black Vanquish, believe its the same for DB9

I have a very similar 2015 Carbon Black Edition Vanquish (including Carbon badges). I see more gold metallic in this paint than the Onyx Black paint. Good luck with your purchase decision.

 

Thank you for the reply...was looking for something other than onyx black, which is OK, but not my favorite.

How may carbon edition Vanquish were made and what years? 2015 only?

I’m not sure how many Carbon Edition Gen 2 Vanquishs were made but likely not many. There were two versions (White and Black) made in 2015-16.

 

all of their blacks look different side by side.
