2019+ Vantage DIY Oil Change

Has any member performed an oil change on the new vantage. Plenty of info on 2016 and earlier online.

A member here or on PH just posted a thread about it the other day. Said it was a breeze.

Given it's a M177 engine, I am guessing this might help: https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-c63s-...2018-c63s.html

There are some schematics. Ask around mbworld. Friendly folks. I have a GT R with M178, close cousin of M177.

Just did it yesterday. Jack up driver side front. T40 torx for drain plug. 24mm socket for filter. Remove 3 bolts behind the cutout of the oil pan to get to filter. 3 bolts remove a triangle shaped cover that protects oil filter. Filter # E155hd122
9 Liters of motul 8100 0w40. Take pictures to keep warranty clear.

You're welcome. Just be sure to use jack stands for safety.

For sure, not my first rodeo, just first time with this car and not a lot of online info on newer vantage. Plenty on my former 2015.

Thank you again!

I have a 2019 MY. There was no obstruction for me to access the oil filter, so no need to remove three bolts or any cover. I’ll have to go back and look to see if it was removed and not replaced in a previous oil change or perhaps the design was changed post 2019.

This is the triangular aluminum piece I removed to get to the filter housing. There were (3) 10mm bolts.

Looks simple (as it should be), was resetting the trip computer straight forward too? KH

I just crawled under the car out of curiosity. I think I see the triangle you are referring to but I was able to remove and replace the filter/ housing without removing it. Just need to angle it a bit.

Next time I get the car off the ground I’ll take a closer look.

Regarding resetting the oil reminder. I used a Mercedes OBD device the first time I changed it. Second time, I just used the steering wheel controls. There’s a video on YouTube where a guy resets his reminder on a DB11. Same process for Vantage.
