Blendmount Radar Hardwire

Just hardwired my R7 using J28 Blendmount Power Cord MTX Series Mirror Tap. Seems like no matter how I wire it, the unit remains powered on when the car is off. So I need to manually turn it on and off. Does anyone else have the same issue?

I realize that I'm answering a question that you didn't ask, but thought I would offer an alternative if you cannot get the mirror tap to work . . . I have been a Blendmount fan for years, but on my 19+, the mirror joint was too narrow to work, so I ended up using double stick tape for my dashcam. I have done MANY installs for cameras as well as radar, but I was not confident to take my Aston apart, so I went with this option for power: https://thinkwarestore.com/product/t...AaAkHpEALw_wcB

No affiliation, good luck with your mirror tap! KH

What year is your car? Does it have an auto- dimming mirror. The following might help.
