I have been using Valentine for years and it is by far the best that I have seen or used. Saved me multiple times and tells me where the radar is coming from.

I have never tried other brands but I am a happy Valentine1 customer. Saved me more than a dozen times. Once I got a signal from the rear and I slowed down and 2 minutes later a CHP passed me from behind. I have 2 of them, both hardwired into my cars.

I have BOTH and both are great but in my area we are usually gunned with instant on. so the detectors are great at letting you know when you will be pulled over!
other favorite way down here is tailing you, again not very detector friendly.
bottom line for me and the Speed Yellow TT is I stay at the speed limit till I get to Sebring, then game on!!

V1 or Escort 8500. Both are good, V1 slightly better. I have both

I had the Escort 8500 for about 3 years and it was a good detector, but when it broke I bought a V1. IMO, the V1 out preforms the 8500. It uses arrows to show you where the radar is coming from, and will also tell you how many radars are being used. It has saved me more than once, that's for sure!!

V1, has saved me many times in Florida where I drive 100+ in small doses everyday. The V1 helps me find the times/places where to sqeeze the throttle for short bursts. (always check your mirrors)

I'm also lucky-I live in a farming district with mile long straights and no cops.

I own the k40. Have it hardwired under the front and back bumper.

It is flat out awesome. Saves my butt all the time on PCH Highly recomend it.
