VAENG is infamous around these parts
Geico has insured my cars since 1990, but I changed to AAA insurance a year ago because Geico discontinued coverage on Aston Martin, McLaren, and several other brands. My 2005 DB9 is the lowest cost of all my cars - $87 a month with a $500 deductible. It was very difficult to secure insurance for the 2024 DBX 707. National Liability & Fire Insurance Company covers that vehicle for $755 a month and they would not provide a deductible lower than $2000.

Just signing up with Hagerty to cover my 2010 Rapide, their premium is $717 a year, while my existing State Farm premium is $2,400... Coverage, liabilities, deductible are the same... No brainer!

I went with Hagerty a year ago for our 2007 Aston V8V and 2004 Porsche 911 turbo. Total annual costs is about 1,400 a year which covers both cars.

I am sure this is not news to anyone but all insurance rates are or have increased. Basically everyone is paying for the very, very big losses in California and Florida.
I can’t imagine the Co part lot full of water logged totaled cars. Matt Armstrong from YouTube did a video from the Florida lot and there was some great cars there. But all totaled.

I dropped Grundy recently, they updated the coverage and basically only cover car shows and events, if you stop by to pick up coffee, it won't be covered. I switched to Hagarty. I used to have American Modern and they were great also. This is my 7th collector car with an agreed value policy. Price will changed based on the amount of agreed value.

I have Grundy (Philadelphia Insurance) for thy past 7 years... did this issue come up with renewal?

my restrictions are no commuting or racing...

I'll have to start looking around because I have a few more cars under the same policy

Same, had Grundy for 20+ years for my restomod Chevelle & Aston last 10 years, last year they increased my rates ( no claims), I switched to hagerty.
This year I added my DD Alfa Giulia QV ( agreed value) to the same policy, I'm paying $3k a year for 3 cars ( chevelle, Vantage & Alfa QV)

I just got my Vantage, but State Farm jacked up my rate an extra $500/yr a month after I took delivery.

Tried going with Hagerty. They were going to charge $1300 VS $2800 for state farm. But ultimately they wouldn't insure me since I don't have a DD. I work from home and share a daily with my partner. I guess I have an excuse to get another car now.

I had interesting results when I combined my 6 vehicles (2 are DD) with the company that does my homeowners and umbrella ins. The quote came back substantially less than what the stand alone auto policy was. In Florida we are experiencing insurance hikes for autos and home! I made the change and save a lot with a excellent rated Insurance company ! Good luck

Who did you go with? I’m 52 single no tickets and have 4 cars insured through USAA. Each has a 1k deductible, the 2017 DB11 is $4400 a year, both 300ZX’s are $1500 a year each, the Lotus is in storage since the engine is out but it is still $500 a year.
Reading all these comments makes me think I need to make a change.

I have USAA for my daily, but their quote for my 2010 V8V was through the roof. They referred me to American Collectors for USAA members. Saving about $300/year over what I was quoted by Hagerty for the same coverage.

Isn't zipcode a major deciding factor in the quote?

I have zero luck with Hagerty years ago and still now. Just sorted a quote for my V12VS and my other V10. And it's 3X higher than what I am paying now with everything equal. I even tried adding a 3rd car a V8 weekender. No difference.

Hagerty would not insure me as my Aston is my primary car. Mapfre recently dropped my coverage, and I have switch to another insurer at the end of this month.

Mapfre also dropped a friend of mines McLaren.

Hagerty would not add my Vantage to policy till I assured them I’d annually drive 9K miles or
less (plus I have another car to point to as an alternative ride). they’ve been less and WAY LESS EXPENSIVE than Chubb/AIG or mainstream carriers.

while I did drive Vantage less than 9k, in the 4 years I’ve had my TR6 on that policy, they’ve never asked me to reaffirm annual mileage.

so far, they’re easily they’re easily the ‘best, most user-friendly agency & carrier I’ve ever contracted with.
EVER!
