I own a DBX and have had my last SS 2013 Vantage for 3yrs and 25,000miles
I just sold and replaced the 2013 with a 2019 Vantage
After an 1800 mile drive home from collecting my new 2019 Vantage (replaced my 2013 Vantage) a few observations:
1. Driving and Performance is the most shocking difference - Feels faster, more direct, more nimble, more aggressive and lighter (not sure if it is or not)
2. No anxiety about damaging the sport shift clutch or concern about being stranded due to failure
3. The sounds on Track mode is not even comparable in how much more theater and experience the 2019 offers over what the 2013 provided.
4. The looks are much more “exotic” and attention getting than the ‘13
I would be very interested in your thoughts. I am thinking of moving up to a 2019 or 2020 myself. Anything like cel or anything along those lines? You know the little pain in the *** problems the 2006 to 2017 Vantages have.
Glad to see all the positive responses, the previous Vantage is drop-dead gorgeous and I am aware of the huge following we have here that are not in favor of the 19+; I think the new variant is just bad a$$
Given that you have a DBX, the Vantage should feel very familiar. I came from a 991.1 Turbo and while the Vantage speed isn't even close, I just don't care . . . I must be getting old Sound alone is worth the price of admission. Where I live, there is a 911 on every corner, granted the other day, I saw (in the wild) a new Vantage, an old Vantage and a Vanquish (that was a special day), seeing an Aston is an occasion. I do appreciate having retrofitted CarPlay and an exhaust (I had the base dual tip exhaust and while the sound was fine, the look drove me bananas), the last change will be to swap the hood for a 2021+ (for the vents) - I think the new Vantage is just fantastic, glad you are discovering the same - looking forward to pictures! I preferred the Vantage's sportier/dartier feel than the DB11 (great GT)-- KH

Yes intermittent emissions system issue every month!
$1000 tail light
$1500 docking unit for ECU
Spider cracked headlights, clear coat failure on rims.. lol
I have a 2013 Mustang GT 5.0. It is a far better drive than my Vantage, it sounds amazing with a Borla exhaust, manual transmission shifts silky smooth, comfortable drive for distances, no doubt faster. Light years ahead of the Vantage. Aston is still far more special. Sometimes the latest tech is not always what's most important.
I enjoy the exclusivity of the brand, the look from any angle. The performance is a bonus!
I understand, the new Vantage is a great car, and well suited for everyday car. I have a 2015 bought new and always garaged, it is only an occasional car, definitely would not want as an everyday driver.
My '11 Vantage was my daily driver and did a decent job. In the end I did need more room and car my wife could drive; hence the Rapide. Wife has the Rapide today actually...
I had 2, 4.7 Vantages prior to my current 4L Vantage.... That handshake with AMG saved AM... This car is so much of a leap forward than the previous V8V's... It doesn't need engine mods...
Most issues are tied to a weak battery.... This car does a lot of sensor activation while it just sits...
Just make sure you get a 4 pipe one... Big difference in sound from the 2 pipe..

Funny that you say this. My wife has had a G-Wagon on order since early last summer. They are saying we "might" see it next year. Since then, I brought home a DBX707. More than once she has said, "If the new G-Wagon takes too long or prices out too high, I might as well get a DBX." Who am I to disagree? (She has put more mileage on our DBX than I have.)
Good summary - thanks for the review. I have not driven one of the newer ones (wouldn't mind though!)
Looks are definitely subjective but I concur that the new one looks considerably more "exotic" and I'm sure turns heads while the previous gen is (IMO) prettier and much more inconspicuous. Personally I prefer flying under the radar so I prefer the older one but that is certainly a matter of preference.
Hard to argue with this though.... (pictures from a few days ago)
