Velocity AP V12 headers - O2 sensors

Hi all, for those who have installed these, did your headers have bung holes for the O2 sensors? I don't think mine did so mechanic has to find a welder and someone to ceramic coat the bung holes...a bit disappointing as the rest of the quality is good.

Our headers have 2 O2 sensor locations per side, for the primary O2 sensors. It's important to mark the harnesses when removing them to ensure they are put back to monitor the correct 3 cylinders. The secondary O2 sensors go in the catalyst section, behind the sport cats that are supplied with our power pack.

That’s bizarre, mine came with them already in there just check my photos from a few years back, just must’ve been an error from VAP.

I found your order information in our system, and the notes, and it makes a lot more sense. You didn't order our power pack, which comes with the ECU tuning, O2 sensor harness extensions, and sport cats with secondary sensor locations. That is a complete turn-key kit.

Since the ECU needs to be set up specifically to allow for the distance of the O2 sensors from the cylinder head (it has an expected response rate to fuelling changes) that's a critical decision that you would need to make with whoever is tuning the vehicle for you, along with where you choose to locate the secondary O2 sensors. We didn't want to put them in a location that prevented the secondary position you wanted, or in a location that your tuner did not want them so they were not added so your installer & tuner can determine the positions they would like to calibrate for.

Thanks Stuart that makes sense. I actually bought the V-Tech flashing unit and a tune from VAP back in 2017 (I can send order details if needed). I already deleted the secondary cats and was planning to upload the file for Chris to tune for a fully catless system with the O2 sensors plugged where the workshop has marked per the photos. Is this still possible after the headers are installed?

Yes, as long as we know where the sensors are we can change the latency and pre-heat as needed.
