2007 Vantage Roadster. I have been getting an srs airbag fault on my dashboard for a few months. Sometimes it is a red warning and sometimes it is yellow. I brought it to an indy shop here in Connecticut and they found that it is probably caused by a faulty Seat Track Sensor #7G4314B426AB. I cannot find anyone who has this part in stock. The sites all say they are waiting for parts from AM.
I know that our cars, especially from that timeframe, share many parts with Volvo and Ford. Does anyone know of a way to find a similar replacement part?
There are several places on line that can refurbish SRS modules and sensors... perhaps reach out to them and they can likely help you.
The sensors are likely not an Aston specific part
I had a reoccurring issue with this a few years ago and was able to reset my SRS module with my Foxwell 530. I haven't had a red or yellow light for a few years now.
i often get a air-bag warning on my 2007 vantage. it's almost always a consequence of either moving the seat too far forward or too far back OR having a non-human object on the seat. i once had it persist for quite a while one day after i had slept in the passenger front seat for a couple of hours during the course of a cross-country trip.
usually, the warning goes away without further action after fiddling with the seat controls or removing the non-human object from the passenger seat.
The sensor you are refering to is this one: Seat track sensor for AM Vantage 2007 Made by Pollak for FoMoCo
It is a magnetic sensor (at least it seems so according to the metal shavings stuck to the sensor head) and as you move the seat forward it passes over a metal flat piece on the lower rail.
It will be a b*tch to remove, but as it seems to be magnetic there might be a metal object/debris stuck to it, or the connector has been pulled out a bit. Try move the seat forward and if possible up, and see if you can reach under it and clean the sensor with a rag or something and try pushing in the connector (or pull it out and reseat it again).
It will however be very close to the floor so might be too tight. At any rate, you can see the markings on the sensor in the pictures.
Problem solved. Lou at Pro Performance in Old Saybrook, Connecticut is the man! He took out the faulty sensor and was able to solder a loose part. No more lights, no warnings.
