Joining the Wonderful World of AM
Just purchased a DB11 V12. This is my first AM and one more cross out on my bucket list.
Coming soon when it gets shipped to me...now the fun begins...

I spent a whole lot of time/education to reach a point where I could build/modify/tune modern OBII engine management systems, became a pretty proficient HP Tuner (13 years at tuning everything)...then got old and tired of it...LOL... Now, mostly with the EPA getting stronger by the day and some states really getting crazy with mods, I've decided to leave it all behind and opt for stock, factory everything...at this point I'm just down to a lawn chair and a well attended CC.
I just sold an AMG GTS. It's amazing to me the butchery some do to that platform with aftermarket mods. One guy, for instance, did catless downpipes which for the life of me I don't get when it gives 5 to maybe 8 hp, he went to sell the car (NOT in CA) and the dealer inspected, found it had no primary cats and refused to take it on trade. He then spent the next month trying to buy cats for it. In the end it cost him about $4K to reverse that decision.
Anyway, that's me now. This was one of my last big builds - C6 Corvette, LS3 - 430hp; supercharged it - 630HP. I did the entire build and tune on this car. It wasn't my last tune, but the last bigger build.
Glad to hear the V12 is a good motor!
Yes Sir Tedds. Will do.
It has to be shipped across the country practically and I know from past experiences it doesn't necessarily go that fast. Car is Lightning Silver BTW, w/black interior.

I know exactly what you're saying. I used to be big into mods (although never had the expertise you had in HPT). Now I'm all about the beauty in stock. The extent of the mods I do now are down to different brake pads and different tires lol. I even took off the aftermarket intake from my last purchase and put it back to stock. Cars are just so nice today and loaded with features, that they really don't need much anymore like the cars of yesterday.
I enjoyed the heck out of tuning, but after so many, just nothing to learn anymore. Besides, I've seen so many businesses of aftermarket gear get sued (fined) by the EPA...started to bother me. I never ran a business, never charged a nickel for a tune but it's one of those things you know you don't want to get big or well known because if you're the one advising someone to remove or alter emissions equipment, you're the bad guy.
Aftermarket intakes are one of the biggest ripoffs in the industry. Low hanging fruit for businesses, not enough gain to challenge by the typical end-user. So they make a fortune on nothing. Aftermarket intakes are the worst performance investment in $ per HP gained. Some actually go backwards and I've proven that on other sites. Some don't spend enough time analyzing how much engineering the factory puts into factory intakes. It's more fantastical to drink the after marketing cool aid.
And agree with you @ 600hp, from the factory, I just cannot use it all. So, why more for me?
