Auto Train ?

Hi all, I have a 09 Vantage with sport pack suspension I want to travel up to New York but hate the stretch of I-95 up to Washington from Florida. Has anyone ever used the auto train with their Aston? I am really hesitant about using it due to people not knowing how to drive and load it. Thanks for any info

I would be very, very cautious about that between break-over angles, scraping the front, and the AmTrak valet...Maybe it's worth a drive out to watch the loading/unloading operation and get an idea of the angles and risk involved? I promise you they won't take responsibility for any damage.

I had considered it when moving from FL to NY last summer, but ultimately opted for covered trailer transport. My concerns were similar to what's mentioned above—specifically the inability for any valet to understand the e-brake (haha).

Amtrak requires 4 inches of ground clearance for vehicles. I also read some horror stories about scuffed valences/bodywork and Amtrak not paying up.

Here's a thread from a Ferrari forum that may help: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/current-amtrak-auto-car-transport.569641/

If you're not worried about miles, it might be better to just drive it. Surely, it'll be more comfortable than an Amtrak coach seat

they are nice cars to drive... i might take 75 north to 85 north to 77 north to 81 north and follow it to NY. ...or roll-your-own alternative route that avoids 95. there are plenty of them!

I considered AutoTrain when bought a BMW in Pennsylvania and live in Central Florida. I went over to the Florida station and looked at what they did...

I spent a weekend driving the car back and it was a good shakedown drive.

Not scenic but good to get up know the car.

I would only use the AutoTrain for a beater car
