OBDII On 2020 DB11

Hello friends! I had to remove a seat out of a 2020 DB11 for a repair. Since seat was removed it triggered the airbag light and I need to reset it. I only see one OBD port in this car and it only gives me engine codes. Is there a second OBD that does all the body codes like the older Astons? If so, any guidance on its location? Thanks!!!!!!

Hi @eroc0808,

The OBD II port is the one source for all fault codes (B-codes, C-codes, P-codes, and U-codes) on this MY DB11. Problem is the tool, especially if it is a V12. A simple OBDII scan tool will only retrieve P-codes. You need a deeper scan tool to extract any other codes, or to reset certain functions such as SRS. Unfortunately, I cannot say there are any tools I've run across that can work on this system.

If you have the AMG V8, there is a possible better chance using MB compatible deep scan tools (maybe). Since I have the V12 in my DB11, I am "on the hunt" for scan tools and yet to find one, but also cannot experiment with some tools I have that work on the AMG platform.

Sorry this is probably not much help for you....

Thank you for the reply! I was afraid of that. I'm using the AUTEL MAXISYS ELITE that works on anything but this so I suppose its not compatible at the moment. I do believe this car is a V8, not near car at moment though, so maybe I'll run through a few Benz settings and see. Oh well. Thanks again.

Yes, one of my favorite tools is an Autel Mx808. I used it extensively on my AMG GTS. it read every module and I could reset many functions.

If I had the V8 I would try using the MB settings but NOT try reading the VIN. Just go directly to diagnosis.

Here is a typical printout of a deep scan on the GTS
