Anyone experience a rattle in their rear hatch cover in all types of road surfaces?

 

Yes. Try adjusting your trunk lid buffer stops.

Yes, my rattle is from the leather privacy cover fixed to the hatch. This just pops right off so you can remove it to test if that's the issue. The solution is to shim the plugs/sliders a little with something to remove any excess play.

Also make sure the 2 screw-in ball ends for that panel are secure. Heat shrink tubing works well on the front dowel mounts.

That was it. Two screws on each fitting were quite loose. Only 900 miles on the car so they weren’t loosened through use.

 

Hand built=finger tight. Glad you solved it and updated for others.
