Nitron dampers review and opinions

I have a couple leaky multimatics and It’s time for my 05 DB9 v12 to get new ones. Was looking at upgrading to the later model bilsteins, but came across these on the David Appleby site. They look amazing and for a fraction of the factory replacements. Just wondering is anyone has used them and how they liked them and if they did springs at the same time and which they were going with? Mine is a daily driver, not a track car or a garage queen. So comfort and handling are important I go over pot holes and dips .. thanks in advance for any help

I am looking at these as well.
I’ve got a ‘09 DB9 SportPack with leaky dampers.
I’ve corresponded with the folks at Velocity AP, and will most likely stay with the stock springs and use their Nitron dampers as they source them from the same place.

I was told one my shocks has a slight leak. They said no urgency on it...
Service manager suggested I have them rebuilt rather than paying retail. I guess the Rapide has unique dampers and they ain't cheap (go figure).

Those BCRacing coilovers and all that adjustment capability with Swift springs all under 2k USD seems attractive

the only thing with BC Racing shocks is ..at max height adjustment it is about 1/2 inch lower than factory and only goes lower from there.
that's if staying factory height is important to some folks

Bumping this thread because I have leaky dampers on an ‘06 V8V Manual and want to stay at factory height. I would also like a little more comfortable ride. Any suggestions?

Has anyone used the custom setup from the Red Pants site?

Thanks

Yep. I installed the BCRacing with Swift springs setup a couple months ago. Allows you to be at any height and the damper setting is changeable by jacking up a side with wheel still on and turning the **** at the top.

It took me a week and removing the wheels maybe 20 times to get the height exactly where I wanted it.

Excellent! What are your impressions of the ride? Stiffer? Softer? How variable?

Thanks for your input!

fantastic with the $300 swift upgrade. 30 settings from hard to soft. I’ve tried 10 to hardest and now am on 10 to softest. Will go in middle next to see what I like.

height is simple as removing wheel, loosening lock and turning the body of the coil over with a rubber grip.

Google rubber strap wrench. This is because the suspension gets in the way of the wrenches to turn the coil over. I marked the body with a piece of tape and turned with the rubber wrench. Super easy and after doing 20 times to get the height perfect you’ll be very good at it.

whatever you do though, do no break loose the collars under the springs. This is the preload. There are some videos that will explain it better.

I have been thinking about getting these, but R & R the wheels 20 times to get the correct ride height is a non starter!

Yeah that’s true with any coil over and aftermarket wheels as I have. The manufacturers will set them at factory height but then it depends on how picky you are to get them to your taste.

Old post I know, but just came across it. Your car and the ride height look incredible. Nice work!

I was tempted by the BC’s but their reputation isn’t great. I’ve had Nitrons on previous vehicles and they’re great. Would be a good option. I’m hoping to find a used set of Bilsteins.
