For these small pieces. I did a really good cleaning with dawn and warm water. Then used a scuff pad. Very happy with the results. I have a liter of color. Which is their largest size. It took 3 thin coats to get good coverage. But does not seem to be a lot of usage. According to their site it is enough to do an entire interior. So I was not planning on having to order more let alone mix.
We’ll see how that goes. As I am working from rear to front

Great work. On my M5 I did something similar to restore the interior. I didn't do a color change (I should have once I found out how simple the process is). I used acetone to strip the dye, then used an air brush to redye the seats and finally used a clear coat. I used dye from furniture clinic. One thing that helped was once I had the process down and bought enough dye to do the entire interior at once to make sure there were no color differences if I bought the dye in separate batches. Aston leather is different but at the end of the day it's just leather. Just take your time and it will turn out fine. Yea the coverage is even in real life. Really pleased with this product. I have been using the supplied sponge to “blot” the dye. Then a blow dryer to dry between coats as recommended. But after dyeing a the bottom of the rear seat I feel it’s better to use an air sprayer to really get that professional finish. So I will work on complete removal of all the interior and prep so I can spray it on. But I’m very ecstatic 🤩 about the finished product! 800 grit scuff pad Side by side Looks and feels so supple

Hope this helps!
thanks. Looks great. Had a chance to pick up an e39 m5 a few years back for a really good price and passed. Kicking myself for that one. I have owned 3 e39’s over the years tho. Awesome cars. Love/hate relationship. But overall one of the best and truly classic. I have an f10 now and wife has an f15. Love Bmw as a daily!
I do miss mine, one of the best sounding cars ever IMO. Congrats on the F10 and F15! That red looks gorgeous. That's the color I wished I used on the M5 and my volor of choice for a Vanquish.
I'm curious how you removed the central vertical rear panel that sits in front of the trunk, above the parcel shelf. I've been considering putting some dynamat behind that to cut down some of the low frequency tire noise.
