Does my DB11 have the AMR Upgrade?
Hi all, trying to figure out if a new-to-me 2017 DB11 has the AMR power upgrade... Are there any clues that can tell me if the car has been upgraded short of going to the dealer? Thanks in advance!
You're going to have to go to the dealer at some point. Might as well start that relationship now. There are no visual details that the car has tuned to the AMR spec. You should want to see the car on the lift with a tech to review the current status of the car as well.
Yes, there are several ways you can tell. Below are the two most obvious/easiest.
If done properly, the badge plaque in the engine bay should have been replaced by one that reads ‘final inspection by AMR’ and not some random persons name.
Put the car in sport plus power train mode. You should not be able to drive 100 yards without hearing an endless stream of pops and bangs and crackles from the exhaust post changing gear and on the overrun. If you almost never hear any pops and bangs, even in sport plus mode, it hasn’t been upgraded to AMR spec.

Much appreciated... I confirmed the car does have the upgrade, they did not replace the engine plaque with the AMR version, not sure if it was the prior owner's preference or if the dealer didn't have any in stock. She snap, crackles, and pops like crazy... love it!

Is the AMR badge the same one as the Factory AMR badge? I just bought an 18 one of the conditions was the AMR upgrade. I've lost faith in the dealer. 10 days to get the upgrade done. Car is being delivered to me now. 4 hour drive. An hour before the car is due Salesman calls and tells me there isn't a special badge. Only proof he says is a certificate from Aston Martin.
That’s what I suspected or the dealer didn’t do the upgrade and don’t know the performance difference as I didn’t drive over 40 mph before I bought it. Dealer is probably just hoping I go away. Previous posters say I should be able to tell by the crackles and pops but if I compare them to my F-type it’s quiet.
