I’ve been offered a 2019 vantage but it has the standard exhaust.

Is it a easy replacement or do aftermarket systems need the performance exhaust as a starting point?

Define easy replacement. Velocity AP does a nice kit that's a mix of their exhaust and uses the OEM metal inserts at the bumper. And the rear bumper does have to be removed to perform the upgrade. We'll worth doing for looks and sound.

 

If you have the single exhaust pipes (one per side) you will also need to replace the valances for the dual exhaust pipes to fit. Velocity AP has those also.
