2015 V12VS Nav Screen & backup Camera Question
2015 V12VS Nav Screen & backup Camera Question
I bought this car a few months ago, and it's an absolutely fantastic thing to drive. Since I don't use the car's nav, I set it to "off" so the screen won't open automatically -- it will open only if I push the NAV button. However, it opens automatically when I engage reverse so the reverse camera operates. I recently tried to set it so the reverse camera would not open in reverse unless I push the NAV button -- the Owner's Guide gives instructions for how to do this. However, my car doesn't seem to have the required settings. The instructions are MENU > Car Settings (enter) > Disable Cam. if nav off (enter)... Problem is that there is no "Disable Cam. if nav off" choice. Does anyone have this option in the menu? Has anyone set the reverse camera so that it doesn't open automatically in reverse if the nav screen is closed, i.e., it only opens if the car is in reverse and you press the NAV button?
Also, and perhaps relatedly, my Owner's Guide was clearly not updated for the V12VS, though it does seem to be the one that originally came with the car. It discusses the "SportShift II Transmission" but, of course, the V12VS has Sportshift III. Also, it provides instructions on how to build oil pressure before starting the engine if the car has sat for a while. However, the V12VS has Bosch engine management which, I believe, does not have that functionality! The earlier cars with the Ford-based engine management (including my V8V) can be cranked -- without the engine starting -- to build oil pressure, but I assume if one tried it with the Bosch system you'd get max revs as soon as the engine started -- the last thing you want on a cold start.
Does anyone with a V12VS (any year) have an Owner's Guide that discusses the Sportshift III?
