V8 Vantage 4.7 oil
V8 Vantage 4.7 oil
I have 2 bottles of Motul 10W-60, a little over 2 years, never opened. Stored in the garage, always mild temperature except for a few hot summer months every year. Don't know if I should use, or not? I have read Motul states their oil only has a 2 year shelf life, but since there is no manufacture date on the bottle, no idea when it was made, I bought off Amazon, August of 2022.
Amsoil now makes 10W-60 European oil, 100% synthetic, since 2023. I've used Amsoil in my other cars, and always been satisfied with it. Any thoughts out there on it?
I didn't realize there is a difference between 100% synthetic and Full synthetic. Full synthetic is actually only a synthetic blend. Motul and Amsoil are the only two true 100% synthetics.

Add Redline to the list of full synthetics.
You've left us to make a lot of assumptions. "Bottles" doesn't tell us how much oil we're discussing. We also don't know how many miles or months between your oil changes.
For me, the additives that might have lost a bit of potency are minor compared to the total amount of oil, I change the oil every spring and usually put less than 2,500 miles on the car each oil change. I would use the "old" quarts.
If the bottles are 5 liters, our side-by-side uses 15w50 and gets oil changes at roughly 600 mile intervals. I'd use it on that.

In an abundance of caution, you could buy another 5 liters and run half and half. At 600 miles per oil change, I don't think there is anything to worry about if you just used the "old" oil unless most of the 600 comes from doing track days.

Every Motul fluid product should have the batch production date printed as day - month - year. As long as they are stored in a cool dry place away from sun, I would use them. You can always send a sample to blackstone for analysis post use.

Hmm.. I will check the containers again, but I could not find any production date. I will probably just go ahead and use, just hate to waste it. And go with Amsoil 10W-60 European next time, additional cost is negligible compared to Motul.
