Question Rapide - Wrong Coils Sent

I ordered coils from https://www.astonmartinbits.com/models/7-RAPIDE-2-1-2-19]Aston Martin Bits and they sent a coils that do not fit. The car is at the mechanic and now I am paying for service on a job that cannot be completed.

I am out hours on labor due to this, not to mention the shipping and customs charges both ways.

Anyone know how this happened? Here's a picture of the coils in the car and what they sent.

Aston Martin Bits replied saying they sent me the wrong parts, for the Rapide S. It's up to me to send them back and pay for any difference along with shipping and customs again. It's their mistake, but all burden is on me...

Keep that in mind should you do any business with them.

I'd order the Amazon specials for $350, get the car finished and get refunded from AM bits.

That's my plan now. Disappointed with how this transaction went with Aston Martin Bits. Between lost labor which I'll have to pay for a 2nd time, shipping both ways and customs. They had not offered an apology or do anything to make it right.

I was quite clear it was '12 Rapide, not Rapide S when I ordered. Consider other vendors.

I've had nothing but a great experience from AstonMatinBits over the last few months with three different orders from them (and first few months of my Aston ownership). Their customer service on all of the parts I ordered and the shipping has been outstanding. They've answered all my questions, helped me find a specific piece that wasn't listed on parts drawings, and have just been great. I did have one item I bought that turned out not be the right item (that was on me) and for a refund I would have had to the deal with the same thing you are dealing with and paying for the shipping/customs back, but it was a small cheaper piece of carpet so I kept the piece and ordered the new one which they shipped out fast and gave me free shipping on it (2nd day air too). Sucks that you're having a tough experience with them though. Maybe they would give you free shipping of the new parts back out to you, see if they could accommodate that way by chance.

The technician should have known the part was incorrect before taking it apart, especially on a big job. Also a good parts person is worth everything.

The customer service was fine until I got the wrong parts.

They would not provide free shipping in any matter. It's all on me even though they shipped the wrong part. I also ordered washer fluid sensor that was correct.

Thank you for giving us a heads up re the vendor. Have you considered taking this up with your credit card company?

Dang, sorry to hear that then since my experience on something that was more my fault was really good, I was hoping you'd be able to at least have them ship the correct ones back out at no cost like they did for me with this one being solely on them. Are you talking to John by chance from there (I'm going to assume yes since that is the only person who I've had respond to me on all of my inquiries).

I can only vouch that my experience has been amazing so far with them (I have one more order hopefully shipping next week, so we'll see if that continues), sorry that yours with this specific issue has not.

They want me to claim an awfully low value of the returned items, so they don't have to pay customs. Inferring that they will return them to me if they have to pay any amount on the return. I had to pay $42 in customs to get the wrong parts.

IMO, this is exactly what credit card chargebacks are for. I'm pretty disappointed to hear how they're treating you. I've used AMBits a *lot* since owning our DB9 and they've always been good. It's not like there aren't other places to find parts though...

Hopefully it won't get to that point. The seller doesn't accept UPS returns so I have to send USPS which is $40 more than UPS. I expect a refund.

Were those $42 a certain % of the invoice?

Ooof that sucks, buddy
I believe there are 2 different coils for the V12, a 2-pin connector and a 3-pin. AMBits should have known that! I hope they step up or that you get relief from the CC company.
