Original Owner

I have owned my 2007 Vantage (6 speed manual, Tungsten, Coupe) since new. As an auto industry retireee it became my hobby car, much modified over its 35,ooo mile, i8 year life. Goal has been a sportier vehicle, through power increments, weight reduction, improved handling and appearance mods. I love this car.

The thin one needs to be cut half to accomodate the lift system's thickness. The hoses are steel braided and long enough to run all the way to the rear. There are spare hose clips under the car so it's easy to rout. If I remember correctly, I was able to rout the hoses behind the rear bumper and into the trunk area without drilling. I positioned the pump and hydraulic fluid reservoir box (a little taller than a shoebox) under the drivers side taillight. There's a small lip there so I attached a small bracket under the box to keep it from sliding out. It has never moved or bounced out.

The control button was trickier. I bought a new center console plate that has three mounting holes for the switches. I also bought a spare button. I took it apart and cleaned off the black finish. I laid in my design over the white plastic surface and painted it black again. The design glows white with the lights on. When activated, the red light flickers. When fully raised, the red light glows steady. There was a lot of trial and error on wiring the connector.

I installed the system around 2012. It has never given me any problems and the fluid has never needed topping off.

Good luck if you plan to do this.
I appreciate it. I will need to find someone smarter than me to tackle that. Something I am going to look into.. 2015 here, original owner as well..

Now that is a very nice looking driveway!

I have major respect for anyone who is an original owner of one of these cars, I haven't met too many other Aston owners in the wild but none of them have been the first owner. There are so many on the market that have seen 3-5 owners and still have logged less than 30k miles. I just don't get how you have access to cars like these and don't look for any opportunity to drive them. I wish I could have had the chance to be the original owner of my car!

I notice this as well, most of the 2015 & 2016 for sale out there have had many owners. Possibly lease returns that went into the auction/resale market and became traveling cars. Maybe people don't realize the expense for service, insurance etc. If a person doesn't or isn't able to service their own cars they can be expensive. Or realize it's not a practical car to own unless you have other vehicles. I am the original and still owner of my 2015 and enjoy doing all the maintenance, but for everyday driving much prefer my F150.

I'm sure the cost of maintenance shocks a lot of people. It still does for me from time to time! I did find the person who owned my car before me, seems like he had a position that would pay very well, and he still opted to have the backup camera removed when it went bad instead of replacing it! To be honest I don't 100% blame him on that one considering the cost vs. actual functionality.
