I wanted to ask around before I tackle this. For 2013 or newer with single lamp style.
I don't want to do something stupid and mess up the headlight lens.
I have one that is becoming discolored and a small bit of clouding.
I have felt around for any film but cannot detect any.
Is this safe to do a normal headlight polish?
There IS a film, if you try to peel it off it will ruin your whole day. Rich, at Redpants, has a post regarding trying to peel that off and the results...

headlight restore can do it on the car. All depends on who is doing it.
The Vantage is a bit overboard. Sand, polish, clear, PPF, and finally ceramic coating
The Viper did not get clear coat. PPF then ceramic coating
Apparently no one on this list has restored their headlights themselves. And no one knows for sure whether these headlights have a film or not. Contact a professional headlight restoration company for advice.
My new 2014 Vantage had a factory coating per Galpin. It was ruined by my PPF installer, who apparently got an alcohol-based substance on the lenses. I self-restored with the wet sanding and liquid restoration process ( a kit from Amazon...many available ). No problem with residual coating but, as others have said, a bit nerve racking. The sanded opaque lense clears right up with the final step of liquid polish. Lasted for many years and then I had a professional clear them up again for ~$200. One caveat...the lenses can develop micro-crazing on their interior side from headlamp heat over time. An exterior polish will not address that.
Also, Expel and others sell pre-cut headlight film.
I would just have a body shot sand it down and clear it, if there is a coating or something over it, its already done for anyways. basically your just removing all the failed film, smoothing it out and putting a clear coat over it.
If you want to do it youtself, buy a kit that attaches to your grill and sand away. I would buy a precut PPF after your done polishing and ceramic coat it after and you should be good for a long time.
