X pipes on DB11 V12 or not?
X pipes on DB11 V12 or not?
On my DB 11, I already did the VAP ECU upgrade the 750 hp, down pipes without catalytic converters. Sounds glorious. Thinking about deleting muffler box and replacing with X pipes. If I go X pipes will I lose bottom torque? Will I lose any of that signature Aston Martin muscle car sound? Thanks!

What is the goal of the change? Louder or different sound characteristic?
I wouldn't worry about torque, especially on anything turbo. Not sure how it changes the TT V12 sound note but for the N/A V8 & V12 cars, an x-pipe quiets down idle and calms that low-rpm "thunder" shifting it to a higher-pitched, raspier, top-end scream usually associated with more of an exotic car vs muscle car. The middle of the rev range isn't drastically different between straight pipe vs x-pipe.
Just my opinion, I personally love the x-pipe as a secondary delete on the N/A V8 cars. For the V12 cars, I prefer the straight pipe secondary delete if just wanting to amplify sound output.
Note that everything does does depend on the rest of your exhaust/backbox combination too... (i.e. I loved my v12 w/ quicksilver backbox sound until I did secondary deletes. It was louder but more muscle car than I wanted and the lack of valves just made it a bit too loud at highway cruising speeds. I swapped the quicksilver backbox for a VAP valvetronic and now it's a great cohesive sound again).

Thank you, that was amazingly helpful.
You’re the first person I spoke to that knows that much about this stuff. That’s what I was looking for. So just to be clear, I have the TT V12 , I removed the catalytic converters and put down pipes. I have the velocity 750 hp upgrade.
It is a lot louder from stock, which is what I like. If I can have two things only without changing anything else, I would have just a little bit more scream in the higher revs, and for the entire volume decibel to increase about 20% 40% more.
That being said, how do you think X pipes and muffler box delete will impact the tone that I currently have?
