Air filters…..

I know most people know about the after market engine air filters from Bilsrtein. Here are a couple photos of the difference of original vs Bilstein. Suderia parts lists factory filters for $168 while I think I paid about $30. The only difference is the painted Aston Martin logo and the part number.

No, I did not. But I paid around $30 for them. I can’t remember where I got them from.

Nice find. The air filters on Astons get dirty so easily it's nice to be able to change them out without a big expense.

Í recently bought a pair of these. Saw many eBay sites - all were in the UK, none were in the US with prices in the 30-35 pounds range plus shipping. I was skeptical of most of the eBay sellers and ended up getting them from Flying Spares also in the UK. 25 pounds plus 66 pounds shipping .
Not the cheapest place to get them from but at least I could trust the vendor
They arrived in a week and no additional tariff fees added.
They were a little tight but applied some silicone around the inside of the lip and they went on with a twist.

I found they were extremely tight. No amount of silicone grease or heat gun was enough to get them installed. I had two pairs on hand, and I couldn't get any of them on. No problems with the genuine AM filters.

I did have problems getting them on. How ever the hole was the same size as the ones that came off. I used a floor jack and slowly raised the jack until they popped on. I tried putting them on by twisting and even used a little bicycle grease. But hey would not go on. I have heard some people actually cut about 1/4 inch of the top rubber ring. That gives it just enough play to go on. I was told the fit is still tight and the bottom of the air box holds everything thing in place. Maybe next time I change them I will try it.
They were sure dirty.

No I don't. They got pretty beat up and torn because I was determined to get them on. Ended up tossing them.
