Personally I've never driven either a Vantage or DB9. But I've read from a lot of reviewers that they were surprised by the DB9's sportiness, contrary to what they were expecting beforehand. I realise I'm just magazine racing here but couldn't resist chipping in.

Btw. in (I believe) the March issue of the British Top Gear magazine they drove both a Vantage and a Jag XKR to the Alps and back. The reviewer preferred the XKR on such a long drive and thought the Aston was too harsh for long trips.
