AMV8 realiability issues

can anyone share their relaibility issues with this car? I am considering getting one and using it as a daily car. I also read about some interior quality issues as well, is this true? this is such a stunning car. how much negotiation room do i have if i order one? Thanks

Judging from what I've seen the interior quality is terrific and gets an A+ in my book, However I would just would like to say that the brake's tend to squeek from time to time.

thanks for the input, yes, from wut I saw in the show room, the interior looks pretty good to me too. The design of the car is stunning, I love it more each time I see it. But reliability is important because I need ot drive it daily

I wouldn't call it a reliable car. You'll have issues here and there. Most likely, nothing major will happen but I certainly wouldn't expect Japanese car quality.

I can handle little issues here and there, and do not mind a trip to the dealer as long as they can fix the problems without keeping the car for days. Do you know some of the problems?

I just saw your post, and pics of the white AMV8--very nice! And the Ferrari too! Do you mind sharing if you pay MSRP, or were you able to get some kind of deal for it. If I were to oder one(vs buy one in stock), can I negotiate for a better price? I noticed my dealer ship always have some instocks.

I got just over 5k off of MSRP but you can do better. They were offering 6k - 9k off for cars that were in stock. I found used 2006's at 105k - 110k.

Check out amoc.org for discussions about issues. Squeaky brakes, rough shifting when cold, emissions warning light, etc. I've only had minor issues but of course, I only have 1300 miles.

I've had mine for about 7 months and use it as my daily driver. It's a bit rough shifting into second for the first 4-5 minutes, but other than that it's been great.

Picking mine up on Thursday - can not wait. Will be a daily driver (when the kid does not have soccer/softball/ friends - does not leave much time!). Was in stock w/ several to choose from but dealer is already worried about late 2007 stock (no sales pitch-they are getting more popular down here, 6-8 sold a month). Will keep you posted ...

Nice. And Congrats. let me know how it goes. I went to look at the 997 Turbo again this past sunday, my whole family think the AM is miles ahead in design

yes, reading about all these issues worry me. But it is such a beautiful car....even my kids think I should get this instead of the 997 turbo

Congrats on the purchase Michael. Please post pics as soon as you pick her up. MDC, I'm also in the market for the Vantage Roadster. Let me know what pricing you get from bay area dealers....

Just lease it and don't worry about the reliability in the long-run... I'm sure they'll give you a dope loaner when it's in the shop.

JImGT3, I will be looking for a coupe. Have not test drive one yet. I will not be able to resist if I go and test drive... It will most likely end of the year before I do that. I was quoted $2.8K/m with a balloon of 54K (12K miles)with $8k down, I think that is too high for a $125K car. I saw a reply for $1.85K/m with 0 down for 10K miles. I think the quote I got is a lease and purchase. Which I do not want. If you pick one up first, pls let me know--thanks
