Why didn't they trade cars and run them again? I recall that the R8 was second only to the Pagani on this track...

Are you confusing ascari race resort with the top gear track? That video is from the super car shootout DVD which was filmed at ascari which is completely different from the top gear track.

 

gt3 is much lighter.i think the coming up V10 r8 might beat the 911turbo.

IMHO, there is no comparison between the R8 and the GT3 or Turbo. I drove all three very thoroughly and own 2 out of the 3 cars. The R8 drives very nice, corners very well etc. but it won't match up to the GT3 or Turbo in power and acceleration. Like I always said, if the R8 had the V10 or better yet the V10TT from the RS6 and with a bit more aggressive exterior, I'd be ALL OVER it!
