Highway fun with SRT8 and G37

I was coming back from Memphis heading to Oxford when I heard a V8 roar coming from behind me on the on ramp. It is a black SRT8 Charger. It was a great looking car.

My car is a 2007 DTM S4 with the following mods:
O.Z. Superleggera Wheels
APR Downpies
Milltek cat-back
EVO MS V-Flow Intake
APR Software (93 Octane)
H&R Coilovers lowered 2" (helps lower drag at 100+ MPH)

The Chrger pulled up beside me and started accelerating hard and the slowing down. We are on a large 4 lane highway. I finally drop to 3rd, going around 70-75 and floor it and then let the charger catch up. We go on three honks and i pull maybe 3-4 cars by the time we reach 140. I think the lower drag and the higher gearing of the S4 helped alot. The guy was cool and gave me a thumbs up.

The G37 story will come later, but i was impressed by that car.

As always I am very careful, there were no other cars in sight on the road. Also, the road has nothing but flat farm land on both sides so in an emergency you can drive off the road with little to no worry.

Now for the G37 Story

After the charger had exited the highway i see a pair of Xenon headlights comign behind me. However, it is still very lght outside. It turns out to be a new Infiniti G37 Coupe. This car was very fast, however it fell hard at speeds above about 110. I was very impressed by this car though. However by 130 I had hi by several car lengths.

2 more kills for the S4!!!! So far the only car i could not pull on was a 2.7L A6 6-Speed that had a lot of work done. that car was FAST!!!

Dont worry Dustin, I am working on more carbon. I am looking at the Vorsteiner hood and EuroGear carbon hood. I need to source some carbon doors and fenders. As far as weight loss I am also taking out spare and tools and a light weight battery in the trunk.

Now as soon as the nitrous set up is in, RS4's beware!!!! (the few in memphis)

I got the DP's put in over the long weekend, PAIN IN THE ***!!!! I will get a sound clip as soon as possible.

Dustin, I still need to talk to you about that job this summer.

Christian, anytime you want to line up that SRT8 I am in. Might have to wait for weight reduction mods and nitrous before i run that 996TT.

So funny you said that, I was wondering with the added power how it would be on the highway. Ive had years of experience with G35's since new, stock and modifying them and they always fell flat 110 and over, funny. Meanwhile my stock M3 when I had it pulled 3 friends FI G35's from the get go, and it got embarrassing over 100 where the M3 doesn't let up!

Thanks for sharing though

I will get pics as soon as possible. Is your S2000 the red one with the carbon hood? If so, looks very good.
