All I can say is what a car! I took this freight train of a car for a spin yesterday and it was a beast, clearley what anyone who wants a different luxo-cruiser would buy. I used to think that the B7 or one of the brabus mercs were king of the road, but the W12 was the tops for me. Any one have one of these? How many tickits do you get on the highway?

 

I have a couple of friends who own one. The thing is a beast, and every minute of driving it is just awesome. What seems like infinite power in a car that might be one of the most comfortable on the road. Definitely one of those rides that I would own "when I grow up."

They have never gotten a single ticket, but they did get interrogated about the car by a cop once who was just curious to take a look around it. They let him have a seat in the drivers seat, and then in the back. His conclusion was the same as mine. If you're not going to be the driver, riding in the back is the way to go...

 

I prefer an S8.

 

How do the S8 and A8L W12 compare? I understand they different engines, but performance wise?

 

V10 vs V12

 

The S8 is actually set up to be a performance sedan... The A8 W12 is supposed to be a luxury touring car that happens to have a phenominal amount of power.

 

For North America -

V10 (S8) - W12 (6.0)

SWB (S8) - LWB (6.0)

S8 is about 500lbs lighter as well. They both share the same suspension components and the performance numbers are nearly identical. The W12 has a slightly nicer interior and additional available options with an extra 10 - 30k price tag.

 

The W12 also has a different seating arrangement in the back and IMO looks better than an S8 (longer, less in your face).
