If this is accurate, I like the B7 RS4 more based solely on appearance

Honestly, the RS5 is not a GT-R killer...but lightly modded, I think it could give a stock GT-R a run for its money. The GT-R is a highly engineered car that Nissan spent at least 8 years, and it was developed to be faster, handle better, and lap quicker than a 911TT. US deliveries are just coming in and the car is already a legend. For the price, you can't get more car than that, performance- and technological-wise.
The RS5 will arguably be a better looking car with a helluva powertrain. I think it will have more "soul" than the GT-R since the biggest knock on the GT-R seems to be that its too robotic. I guess we'll have to just wait and see.
Its just a mule. Looks like an S5 body with a modified front fascia with bigger side vents and the bigger motor(V8TT or V10?) basically. Hopefully Car Magazine is pretty darn close with their photoshop pics(if they truly are PSed), because the RS5 looks sikk in those pics!

Gorgeous car and with the Audi quality and finish it will be a killer.
The numbers are good. The aspirations of those to conquer will be a tough order.
I love the RS4 but the body design of the "5" line is uniquely fresh.
It will be pricey. I will guess $90K to $100K. With what's happenning in todays global economy, times are going to be tough for disposable bucks.
One thing though, I would have hoped for bigger bhp numbers from a TT V8 motor?
It does look awesome.

Based on the latest rumors, it will have tuned version of the NA 4.2L from the RS4 producing around 470HP - so no turbo or supercharger (shame indeed). Also based on the price variance between current S5 and RS4, I am guess the base MSRP will be around $70 to $75K. Of course, it will go up from there if you add options. If it's any more than $85k, I am getting my deposit back.
Those are probably just auxiliary cooling radiators. Even my 4.2L S4 has them and from far away they can be mistaken for side mount intercoolers.
No can do on a Quattro car. Even though Audi calls them all "Quattro", the A3's and S4/A4/S5/RS4 have different all wheel drive systems. The A3 uses and electronically controlled Haldex system since it's built on a VW platform. The other cars all use a mechanical torsen based system. I think Stasis Motorsports sells a center diff that creates a 70/30 bias, but that's the most aggressive I've heard you can do with the torsen based system.

However, I am sure I have lost a fair amount of traction if I ever needed Quattro in the snow.
Loved the S5 when I had a chance to drive it, but still felt that it lacked the power to be truly fun. My buddies and I all decided it would be a good car for a car guys wife. Everything else on the car was on point, but 350hp just wasn't enough for it. This should make this gorgeous car a blast now to drive as well.
